Introduction

I
booked this trip with Trek America where they call it Westerner
3. It is a 21 day trip through the
Western part of the U.S.A. consisting of a group of
people of mixed nationalities. For transport we used a
Dodge minibus which can hold about 13 persons and one
driver. In 21 days we travelled a distance of about 4.432
kilometers.

The Route

The
route we followed in this Western part of the United
States of America was as follows. We started in Los
Angeles via Holywood along the Pacific coast to San
Fransisco, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, Sierra
Nevada, Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks, Lake
Powell, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, San
Diego, a visit to Tijuana in Mexico and back to Los
Angeles.

Tour

The

stop - Universal Studios for a star studded show.
Cruise
up the California Coast to the Giant Redwoods of
Big Sur.
Shop
on the Monterey Peninsula in the quaint town of
Carmel.
Hit
the streets of San Francisco - Coit Tower, Nob
Hill or an excursion to Alcatraz - two full days
to see and do it all.
Enjoy
the thrills and spills of a river rafting trip.
Heading
east to the breathtaking beauty of Yosemite
National Park, with spectacular views of
glacially carved valleys and majestic redwood
trees.
We
venture high into the Sierra Nevada mountain
range, crossing into the more arid Eastern
Sierras.
Sail
across Lake Tahoe on a champagne sunset cruise.
Into
Utah's back country and the magnificent natural
beauty of Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.
Hike
amidst the splendour of colourful canyons and
amazing rock formations.
Relax,
soak up the sun or take a speedboat ride through
Lake Powell's flooded canyons.
Ride
tall in the saddle over Navajo Indian lands
camping on the edge of Monument Valley.
Westward,
via the Painted Desert to the Grand Canyon, a
truly majestic sight.
It's
"show time" in the neon capital of the
world - Las Vegas.
It's
Margarita time in Mexico.
Have
a whale of a time in San Diego's Sea World, or
relax on the beach
Heading
back to Los Angeles for a fun-filled day in
Disneyland - the happiest place on earth.
